We have lift off
2026 marks 10 years since the launch of No Man’s Sky, and Hello Games is showing no signs of slowing down on the content front. Today, the studio has launched the ‘Remnant’ update, its first major patch of the year, and it’s expectedly packed with additions.
The headliner this time around is the ‘Gravitino Coil’, an all-new Gravity Gun that lets you pick up debris and other large objects with ease. With such a power, you can deal with pesky sentinels, chuck projectiles, or set out on scrap expeditions, transporting any big finds back to base to recycle them into rare resources.
And yes, we said “transporting” there. Remnant also introduces a new fleet of trucks, tipping flatbeds and haulers, each of which promises to provide a certain Truck Simulator feel to getting from point A to B.
As ever, all of this can be done either alone or online with pals — though a new limited-time community expedition will encourage you to do the latter as you’re tasked with clearing up the planet to unlock some sweet cosmetic rewards.

Combined with last year’s ‘Voyagers‘ update — which let you design and build a spaceship with your online crew — additions like today’s make for a neat little bump to No Man’s Sky’s multiplayer appeal. With a rock-solid Switch 2 version, long may the updates continue!

Happy for those playing No Man's Sky – looking forward to this (and more considering considering that it keeps on getting such additions) whenever I give it at least a try myself!

This game never stops giving! I truly respect the developers for the level of effort they are putting in! There always seems to be something interesting to do in this game.

@Jimmy_G_Buckets You're in luck as, at least in the UK, it has gone on sale again today for £15.99 (matching its lowest ever price).
If its not currently on sale in your region, then I am sure it will be soon.

All these updates and additions I’ve missed out on, multiplayer is added and it looks gorgeous on S2 — I’ve got to make a concerted effort to get back into this game!
I’ll take another stab at resurrecting the save data from my OLED. For some reason, when I booted the game up on my S2 last year it didn’t find my old data.

But will they ever version match with Xbox so I can play coop with my son?…

It's pretty amazing how Hello Games keeps supporting this game. I bought it around launch way back for PS4 and was disappointed like many others. The potential was always there for this to be a special game and I'm glad the developers never gave up on it. What's even more impressive is how so many updates are free. You aren't being nickel and dimed for pretty much everything. I can't wait to see how 'Light No Fire's turns out.

@Teksette I am in the same boat, I have it loaded and ready on Switch 2 but just need to find that darn incentive/drive to fully get back into the save file from my OLED days. Tons has been added since, which is great obviously, but kinda overwhelming too?

Jumping back in is rather overwhelming!
As in, when I checked out the upgraded S2 version briefly last summer, it dumped me in a space station and it had been so long since I played, I couldn't even remember how to refuel my ship and navigate home! Or did I use a warp portal to get there? I just didn't remember. So I'll have to re-learn all the basics of the game, let alone start to familiarize myself with the new content.
(This reminds me that I guess it did load my old save data, or else it wouldn't have started me on a random space station! I'll have to edit my earlier post.)
Still, though, NMS seems so tempting to go back to. Maybe if I get to a good stopping point in Sega Picross. My gaming time and energy just is not what it used to be!

When are they going to be done so the game can get cheap enough to buy for me? It's a great value but I need it to be cheap because I am poor.

@Teksette oh wow, that’s a crazy good point too, I have forgotten all the basics like fuelling up etc. What if I get plopped in a random station like you did, and get instantly attacked by pirates before I learn how to control/defend against them again (if that’s still a thing, the constant pirate attacks – it used to happen to me all the bloody time 😂).

Is this a full 25GB download again, or a delta patch?
